Grant, Glenn. "Thermometers Melting"
Divergence: 1916 CE
What if: Canada detained Leon Trotsky in a World War I prison camp for years rather than months
after he was taken into custody in Halifax while en route from New York back to Russia.
Summary: A young reporter from a Kansas City newspaper travels to Canada to interview Trotsky
and find out his impressions about the sucesses of the Kerenskian government against
Lenin's revolutionists. Inadvertently, he assists in Trotsky's escape. Or is it all just
fiction?
