Grimsley, Mark. What If…
Summary: Series of columns, written for World War II magazine beginning in mid 2007, speculating on allohistorical events. Explicit scenarios vary in degree of development, from a few paragraphs to over a page. All columns end with discussion of the likelihood of particular follow-up events.

Grimsley, Mark. "What If… FDR Had Not Run for a Third Term?"
Divergence: 1940 CE
Summary: Scenario outlining how Wendell Willkie was elected president in 1940. Following discussion indicates that he would have generally followed Roosevelt's policies, but that a cross-Channel attack in 1943 (with limited success) was likely. Concludes by asking who would become president in 1945 because both Willkie and his running mate died in 1944.
