Kleinberg, Aviad. "Constantinus mitgayer"
Title trans.: "Constantine Converted to Judaism"
Divergence: 312 CE
What if: Roman emperor Constantine saw a vision of Moses and the lamp rather than Jesus and the cross, and converted to Judaism.
Summary: For his rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem and of a greater temple in Constantinople, Constantine is proclaimed the messiah. But with no separation between synagogue and state, Judaism becomes less democratic and more repressive, forcing pagans to convert and destroying heretic sects such as the Christians.
