North, Claire. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August
Summary: There are "kalachakra" who upon death are reborn to repeat their lives, carrying their
memories over to the next iteration. Although most avoid attempting to change history
because of the danger it poses to themselves and others, there are others who aggressively
try to do so, and must be stopped.
Comments: Not especially allohistorical, but two or three lives of the main character experience
greatly sped-up technological advances beginning in the mid 20th century. He also learns of
another erased past in which France came to dominate Europe c. 1700.
